WHAT TO DO ABOUT PERFECTION?

“And what of perfection?“ The sadhaka (student of the way) asked himself. It is a certainty, a piece of me will always reach for the most exceptional possibility. Perfection is this highest road that only the exceptional Self may take. It is the conscious pursuit of summits. It is self defined. Self made. Self attained. Only these eyes of mine hold the genius to recognize the dream hidden within the world!

Force the absolute into form. Pull this dream into my current reality through self control, correct energy, steady mind, and glowing heart. There is no point in denying that the dream calls me. Not now, when I am so close and so well prepared.

And what of perfection? Follow it. Perfect myself. Complete what is incomplete. Fulfill every empty slot. Forests must be planted, musn't they? It is work. It is my right to seed the earth. It is not without purpose that my dreams call and that my starved ideals haunt me.

And what of perfection? It is to be attained. But how? I must learn to give more than what I am or have. Expect this not of others but of myself, not of life but of my deeds. Accept only the highest standard of what I am.

I know, perfect itself will never last. By the time the summit is reached I will be more than what I was and my dreams in that will be more than what they were as well.

Through the grace of my imagination and strength I'm permitted to perfect what has already been perfected. Strengthen what is already strong. Balance what is already balanced. Heal what is already healthy. Embellish what is already beautiful. And on and on the game of perfection goes.

Only from the first summit can the second be seen. There will always be another step to take. This is life as work and journey. So, let perfect be the everlasting practice of inhuman effort for the lifetime that I have to be human.
